Dads know the grind. Even though it can sometimes feel like a slog, fathers today are eager to make sure everything gets done and — everyone gets taken care of. This Father’s Day, we’d like to thank all the dads out there for putting in the time to support their families!

While we often think of celebrating dads with neckties and grills, they’re about much more than a day at the office and firing up the coals.

Working dads put in plenty of time on the job, but they’re also busy at home. They’re more involved in their kids’ lives and in the managing of the household than ever. From the basics needed to keep everyone in the home moving — all that cooking and cleaning and laundry — to homework help, mediating sibling feuds, and appreciating the first attempt at scales on a new instrument, fathers today aren’t likely to just put their feet up when they get home. The years may feel short, but the days often feel long. For stay-at-home dads, it can be just as hectic.

And that’s just during the week! Dads often spend their weekends helping the kids perfect their curveball, chaperoning outings to the zoo or a park, doing some heavy-duty cleaning, and more. Plus, many dads still enjoy getting under the hood of the family car or up on the roof of the house, and they’re often a go-to for those fixes and repairs that are needed every now and then. It’s a lot to do and dads take it in stride!

But the grind can also lead to bruxism symptoms. If you’re grinding your teeth at night, you may be suffering from bruxism —

and may end up facing tooth damage, jaw pain, headaches, lost sleep, and more. Some of these bruxism symptoms might not seem like a big deal at first, but they can quickly become more serious problems, like temporomandibular joint disorder (also known as TMJ or TMD).

A dental guard can help! SleepRight’s dental guards are designed to help prevent your teeth from grinding and the bruxism symptoms that come with it. Look for our dental guards at your local CVS, Walgreens, or Walmart!
